Lisette Johnson

With an extensive background spanning youth leadership, athletic coaching, and performance arts, Lisette bring’s a unique, safety-first perspective to the instruction and operations at Circus Monkey.

My foundation in youth development is rooted in my years as a Girl Scout Camp Director and Troop Leader, alongside serving as an Assistant Softball Pitching Coach. These roles have honed my ability to manage group dynamics, design engaging curriculums, and foster a supportive environment where children thrive. Complementing this is my background as a Meditation Instructor, which allows me to teach students how to cultivate the focus, patience, and mindfulness necessary to overcome the mental hurdles of learning new physical disciplines.

Athletically, my training in pole dancing, softball, swimming, and weightlifting has provided me with a deep understanding of body mechanics, functional strength, and injury prevention. Crucially, my pole and weight training have given me extensive hands-on experience with advanced spotting techniques and safety protocols for inverted and suspended movement. I am highly confident in my ability to apply these skills to ensure the physical safety of aerial arts students.

My passion for the circus world is lifelong and global, highlighted by studying Poi at the European Juggling Festival. This experience, combined with my background in film and variety show coordination, gives me a distinct creative eye for staging, choreography, and performance.

I am incredibly eager to bring this diverse toolkit to Circus Monkey. I look forward to the opportunity to connect, build a vibrant community, and help safely bring your artistic vision to life.

John Spinosa

John Spinosa has been unicycling for many years and juggling for many more. Though what he really enjoys is passing clubs, he also knows how to manipulate bean bags, diabolos, ropes, meteors, rings and balance ladder and enjoys teaching any of the above. He has been involved in the juggling/circus community for 20+ years and is proud to be a coach at SANCA and to help them on their mission of spreading the fun of circus skills.

John The Juggler is a long-time Seattle juggler who has skills in unicycling, meteors, circus bike, knots (trick & useful), diabolo, volleyclub, and computers. But his real passion is passing clubs: moving patterns with many people, numbers passing, strange rhythms and triangles, any of which you’ll find him doing at any juggle/flow meetup. When he’s not with family, juggling, playing board games, getting repeatedly killed in live productions of Star Wars movies, playing Artemis: Starship Bridge Simulator, or working with computers, you’ll find him teaching unicycle and juggling at the local circus school, SANCA.

John the Juggler has been unicycling and juggling for far too long. His plan was to only do it for as long as it was fun and interesting, and so far so good. He teaches both of these skills at SANCA, the local circus school, and regularly attends the Cascade Jugglers Club meetings. Lately, he has been experimenting with two wheels which he'll happily demonstrate if asked nicely.
